my name is alex shapiro & I love making art.
                                                                                                                                                     
I am from Buffalo, NY (go bills) and graduated in 2024 from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
I concentrated in Interactive Art & Play and Its Impact on K-12 Public Education, along with a minor in Studio Art.
I am currently obtaining my Masters in Childhood Education from Buffalo State University.

I am very interested in hands-on learning, specifically in public schools and museum settings. I believe that interactive art is the future in a world that is increasingly automated.

When it comes to my art making, I explore topics such as nostalgia, fear, gender, and the intersection that exists between them all. The human experience & what not.

No matter the medium, I create things that speak to the core of who I am as a person, while simuntalneously not always understanding where they came from. It is through the creation of art that I attempt to understand myself, the world around me, and the impact we have on each other.
