ceramic
I have always cared for the medium of ceramics -- a tactile learner’s first love. even as a child, I made pieces that
both adhered to realism (my need to make something ‘perfect’) while simultaneously directly opposing reality. an example
of this is a piece I made at art camp in Buffalo (where we got to obtain our own wild clay from the creek across the street):
a turtle eating a chocolate chip cookie.
I love ceramics because it allows me to visualize a finished piece without needing to create a detailed sketch to get the idea across.
