zines
I got into making and designing zines my freshman year of college after taking an introductory bookmaking course.
bookmaking is another one of those art forms where there can be a right and a wrong, which is what made me
gravitate more towards zines.
zines push me to create some simple illustrations to go with whatever vision I have. I write out a hyper-detailed
description of what I want the illustration to look like and go from there. making zines is a relatively low stress,
low pressure process for me, so I often find myself experimenting more with them than other mediums.
Troll Zine
Troll Zine is a love letter to trolls. It includes a variety of information, ranging from the history of the idea of a ‘troll’ to the story of the Good Luck Trolls to how trolls are depicted in modern media. As a society, there is much we can learn from trolls; this zine provides some direction.

Steadfast
Steadfast is an ode to Sylvia Plath’s fig tree from The Bell Jar. As an interdisciplinary artist, the dilema of ‘jack of all trades vs master of none’ is one that often weighs on my mind. This zine is a quick visualization of that idea.
